you can use a boot disk, open the bios and boot from the disk. that will wipe and re install the operating system. however if you are worried about files on the harddrive and you dont want them found you can use neodymium magnets to remove everything. this will ruin your harddrive though

to recover an acer to factory settings(which will erase your files)

enter the BIOS

check/set D2D(disk to disk) to enabled.

save and restart the pc, during the LOGO, press ALT + F10 to start recovery

this process must not be interrupted.

it must be started whilst using your POWER SUPPLY.

do not leave it unattended.
