Iraq 7 - better if 1 million per soldier each year was spent here in my opinion.
Health 7 - we needed reform and he got us something which is more than 7 others could do but I am not satisfied with him leaving it to the HR and congress to draft. There was to much partisan in this bill in my opinion in the form that we needed one extreme or the other, And instead we drafted a morality bill. Good and needed dont get me wrong. But it doesnt address cost as effectively as other countries have effectively done
transport - 10
Civil rights - 5 and only a 5 for the hate crimes bill and his position
education 10 he made a huge difference in raising health age on parents plans and replacing hope credit with one that included books and fees, but increased over tax credit payout from 0-40%
immigration - we will see
I will stop there, he is not as strong as I would like him to be. Or as strong as he campaigned he would be.
Giving the current circumstances and the problems that were afloat before his presidency, I will be nice and give him a 5/10.
It's going to take years to get out of this mess, and even longer if our government refuses to cut spending -- which seems to be the case by house Democrats and Republicans. Neither are willing to give up their ambitions.
Maybe Americans will take the time and get more involved in politics and educated on politics, so this never happens again. We've already seen that both parties are equally compatible of big spending, despite their supposed claims of being against big budgets.
He gets an 8 on the grounds that Dubbya left him a huge mess to deal with that wasn't there before Dubbya showed up. Obama was left to deal with the continuing military efforts in the middle- east, clean up America's tarnished image to the rest of the world through talking with world leaders, and almost complete abandonoment of the environment in the name of the oil industry. Nobody can clean up the amount of bad things Obama has to deal with now overnight. He deserves an 8.
I don't think he's done any better than most in the position. His most recent comments concerning the Yemen terrorists..."We will disrupt, disperse, and defeat..." sounds like President Bush.

With 10 best and 1 worst, I'd put him at 4.
2 points for working with Bernanke (he looses these points if he spends the repaid TARP money)
2 points for stem cell research, like another responder said

Total failure, and I'm glad to see it.
Since he doesn't appear to have Americas best interests as his priority. -3
