Hi, here are the specs. It has 2.0GB ram and 160 GB hard drive.

I had my system restored to factory settings. But now, the usual Local Disk (C:) with 160GB storage has only 25GB storage and is almost full. However, there is a Data (E:) drive with 125 GB which is empty.
Is there a way to merge these two or increase the size of the Local Disk (C:) drive?

Honestly, you should probably try going to http://www.hp-forums.com/ and ask the professionals. It is a free service and you can also interact with many other HP users to ask them for their opinions. You can also find and request drivers. They normally respond very quickly.
it may well be the bearings in the alternator. those will tend to get louder the greater load it has. I.E - Does the noise get louder mutually as you start to alter the great element on like lighting fixtures, heater, window demisters. all of them use particularly some vigor so will effect the alternator noise output. provide it a attempt to work out what occurs.
you can delete the D partition and grow the c to fill the space. this can be done with programs like partition magic. might be some free ones on www.ultimatebootcd.com
however make sure you back up. if you get this wrong you can destory all data on the drives and have to reinstall.
