The goat probably did jump out of the window but laid there in shock or it passed out. You probably only thought it was dead. When you came back, he was just hanging out there again. Goats like to be upstairs whenever possible. We used to have friends that had a couple of goats and they are weird creatures. It would try to butt us off the second story platform all the time.
