A lot of **** has happened this year
that caused my anxiety.
I get it off and on over silly things at times and it lasts for a while. I am not sure what to do about that or what could help.
Ive talked to a dr...that really didnt help at all.
Update:um you dont need to turn to drugs for everything just to let you know. so dont think you know everything...

If you talk with a doctor and you didn't feel like it helped, I would find a therapist or a counselor who you are comfortable with to talk about your concerns. I have medications that I take but I support every persons right to decide the best course of action for their individual selves. Depression and anxiety are neurological imbalances and if you had cancer most people would not hesitate to seek treatment from the medical community. How is being treating for depression or anxiety any different as it due to biochemical abnormalities in the brain? When you say the doctor didn't help, could you explain more? Maybe we can answer the question a bit better.
For starters your question is über ambiguous. There's no effective way to reduce anxiety without meds but I think the real reason you're here is because you're lost, alone and don't know where to turn. The world of mental disorders is a quiet one seldom looked upon, seldom understood but holds many sufferers. The problem is, is that when it comes to mental problems, people usually ignore the person with one because they think that they are crazy or seeking attention. There is nothing to do but wait until your destiny chooses what happens to you wether you get help or end up committing suicide from depression.
Wyatt says "There's no effective way to reduce anxiety without meds" that is complete rubbish.
Anxiety, depression and numerous other mental issues can be dealt with quicker and easier without meds. most mental Issues are caused by wrong thinking.
Try talking to a psychotherapist about mindfulness meditation, or you can google and youtube it for yourself. learn to meditate and do so understanding that you need to change the way you think. Your thoughts are not your own nor are they you, they are only a symptom/reaction to your environment.
