If an Police officer was also a Volunteer EMT?
Could he arrest someone while he was on a call? Say Im a Police officer but also a volunteer EMT. I am on a call to chest pains and the patients son attacked me. Even though I am not in uniform, would I be allowed to arrest him and then call for a squad car?
Update:ok, the thing is, Im a volunteer EMT and after the military, I want to also be a cop.

Are you going to abandon your patient in doing so? You might find yourself in court if you do that and kiss that EMT cert good-bye. Take care of the patient and call for back up. You can always file charges. But, the patient may not have time to waste while you dick around playing cop.
Well, Civilians are allowed to arrest people if they actually did something so if you are off duty I don't see why not. Just don't abuse it.
All you need is yur police badge, bring your badge EVERYWHERE.
