I don't think you will be able to run Left 4 Dead if you couldnt run Bioshock, i checked the system requirements and they seem more demanding, im sorry. :(.
I saw that the prices of Xbox360's went down a lot in the past 2 months. I saw some for as low as $170 from dell.com, I don't know anything about you, but that seems to be an option for both Left 4 Dead and Bioshock. Although 360's are unreliable and can break often.
