well here is the real low down on processors and operating software and application software
The 64 bit processor came out 2 years ago, the core2 came out last year the core x2 came out this year, processor manufactures are pushing the core 2 quad processors.
Now here is what we have today computer operating system Windows XP and Vista, Mac OS/x Linux are still only 32 BIT and 64 single core operating systems it takes years to write operating systems for processors
You will have a Intel Core 2 Quad running at 64 bit not 64 bit times two or three
yet Processor Manufactures are marketing their processors and not telling you that you will not get any greater benefit from running it because the operating sytems will not bet out for a year or two and application software may take longer.
so you can say in two years time the operating system for the Core 2 Quad will be out, and the Manufactures will be pushing core 4 x 4 processors by then
see what I am getting at? you are being coned into buying something that will still be running a 64 bit and not 64 bit times 3
wake up don't be fooled by marketing ploys
I believe the Q6600 is faster due to it's bigger L2 cache, even though the fsb is lower. If you really want the bigger monitor then go for it as I don't think you'll use a program that will benefit from having a Quad core and even if you do then unless you overclock it you won't find much if any noticeable difference between the two. I have a Q6600 and the only program that utilizes all four cores is Nero Recode and I went with the quad because I encode like a crazy mofo.
It doesn't matter if you have 32-bit or 64-bit Windows Xp or Vista they'll both accept the 4 cores of the cpu.

the Q8200 is the newer version of the quad core than the Q6600. the Q8200 is the best bang for the buck
Q8200 is a newer model I think you should get it due to the fact you also get a nice monitor!
