Intense/regular headache on left temporal lobe?

I'm a 21 years old male and recently (for the past 4-5 weeks) I've had this regular headache on the left temporal lobe, precisely above the area between the eye and the ear. The pain is not followed by any other symptoms, but it is very intense, and it's always on this specific area. It happens usually in midday, but sometimes I've been awaken by it in the morning. Before this I've never had headaches, it would happen only 2 or 4 times a year, and it was a regular headache. However I remember that three years ago I had this very same headache, but it was much worse, it felt like the left side of my head was melting, but until now it didn't happen again. I find it strange that it happens at a specific time of the day, and that it's always on that part of the head. I don't have any medical history, and as for my family no one has any problems with headaches. I've been smoking since I was 17, I quit in March but recently, for about a month, I've been smoking 4 to 6 cigarettes a day. At first I thought it was because of the smoking, but the headache would occur before I would smoke. I've read some similar questions here, but they didn't seem to help me. Can anyone tell me what's the cause, or anything helpful?
