If you are due to deliver your internal os is suppose to open and as the labor progresses, the fetal head is suppose to go down gradually and the head is supposed to be fixed at the internal os to pass through the cervix going down birth canal for delivery.
You have not mentioned how many weeks you are in now but if it is not beyond the 40th week and there is no any complications then there is no harm, you can have a little more wait until you start labor signalled by labor pains or some vaginal discharges ( mucus plug). For the meantime, keep on walking as this will help to hasten cervical dilatation and help to improve uterine contraction ( if you are in labpr) which will hasten the stages of labor and delivery.
If you are now on the 40th week or more then I think you need to be admitted to induce labor.
With the other concern you have on head get fixed, it is this way: as labor starts and cervix starts to dilate, then the baby starts to descend. To be able to go through the birth canal it has to pass through the cervix and its head is supposed to be fixed at the internal os otherwise if the head is not fixed it is called floating and the baby will be unable to go through the birth canal. In that case your cervical dilatation may reach to the full yet the baby remains hanging up and most likely the baby will not be able to deliver normally.
Anyway do not be scared and think positively, because your way of thinking has a great impact on this process. Goodluck!

every birth is different--if you are not really late, I wouldn't worry--sometimes the baby doesn't drop until right before labor begins. Unless you have special circumstances I vote against induction--it messes with the natural birth. Your body and the baby know what they are doing--had 5 myself!
OMG, im 9 months pregnant and i go to the doctor for my weekly check up tomorrow. i just read that and now i am SCARED TO DEATH! seriously!
Ouch! I don't know, but that sounds like it might hurt a lot!
GO TO THE HOSPITAL AND GET INDUCED!!!
