Yes I saw it and it left me feeling angry and upset. However I cannot say as some reports are suggesting that all of southmead residents are racist and I dont think the programme was trying to say it was.

When the little boy was trying to mug her, a resident came to her rescue, asked directions people gave them politely, a little girl chatted and was very sweet. So anyone who is thinking the area of Southmead and its residents where trying to be vilified I think they missed the point.

The reporters did state they met some very nice people but that does not take away that these where real insidents that happened to real people, and I am sure anyone who was on the recieving end would have feared for their lives too.

The point was not to vilify this one estate but to say that racism is still part of Britian and these teenagers, young adults and children who where part of the abuse are to become adults and have children and raise them to be what? Like them? Where are these kids parents? Do they care that their children are throwing glass at a human being?

These crimes go on and people are attacked just for their race and their religion.

I am a white Brit as white as they come but I am a Muslim so they would have been shouting ''raghead'' and ''jihad'' to me too I can assure you.

I lived in a Multicultural city all my life with every faith and race and behaviour like that as a little protestant child and teenager I was never a witness too. So why now? The media is constantly daily vilifying muslims and these people think its OK because its their country. Well sorry but its MY country and they are not going to tell me what faith I can and cannot choose.

Even people here at Yahoo all the time are accusing me and other Muslims or being violent etc when who was being violent in Panorama? But we are branded the terrorists even though clearly the woman was being terrorised outside her home, no one is branding them terrorists are they?

It is shocking and its not only race or religion, I am sure if a couple of Goths or someone objecting to them making to much noise outside of their house that young adults and teenagers would have given just as much abuse as they did to these two reporters.

There is something sadly wrong in this society of ours in the UK today and those EDL and BNP members and supporters are just giving green lights for this hate, dressing it up as patriotism trying to make it credible.

Since when did you being proud of your country or race involve having to put another down? Only insecure people need to do that. Its because its not about patriotism but they use this as a means of justifying their marches and hate spreading.

I am so glad many on the estate where nice to them and that the majority of people on the Southmead estate and estates and towns and communites up and down this country are excepting, are generous of mind and spirit. Sadly there is always the ones who spoil it for everyone.

panorama racism is ok, although i prefer stationary and zoomed racism, myself.
