I want to connect my laptop to the plasma tv, because I have movies on the laptop, and instead of burning it on to dvds to watch it on the dvd player, i thought i could just connect it to the plasma and watch it like that.
Normally I wait til i get enough movies to fit on to a dvd, but its only about roughly 2 movies that fit onto a dvd (i think thats a waste of a dvd)
I know that if you connect a playstation 2 to the plasma that is bad for the plasma, I was wondering would it be the same if i connected the laptop to the tv?
So does connecting my laptop to the plasma bad for my laptop or plasma tv?
Please Help Me
Update:Plus if its ok, Is it better to connect the laptop to a newer plasma (HD) or is an older one ok to (so like it doesnt have all those 7two or GEM or GO channels)

the reason not to hook up games to a plasma is that an image that is often repeated or never goes away, such as a score or certain graphics will burn an image into the plasma screen. repetitive images.
A movie should be fine, it doesnt have the same image all the time like games do.
Lcd's dont get a burn in so they are ok for gaming.
To a point.
Plasma TV's are still subject to burn-in, which happens when there is a static (non-moving) image on the screen for a long period of time. This causes that image to be permanently set into the background of the image.
Using a Plasma TV as a computer monitor will increase the risk of burn-in, but will not otherwise damage the unit. You can use it for movies and such, as long as you don't leave it displaying your computer desktop for long periods.
Don't worry:D
It does not really matter if you connect to a newer plasma or an older one.
Buy an HDMI cable which should let you connect !
Good Luck:D
PS2 = NO!
With the laptop you can get away with it but make sure you only use it for movies.Any non moving images will burn in the plasma.Keep the picture in motion as much as possible.
