Everytime i make a post about dubbed anime, i have always been called out by guys insulting me and even threatening me. So is watching dubbed anime blasphemy? Am i committing sin?
no. dubs aren't as bad as they used to be and some dubs are even better than the original (full metal alchemist comes to mind). some things will naturally be lost in translation, but sometimes things end up being gained in a dub. as long as the dub is faithful to the original and doesn't cut or censor or otherwise diminish the original, then it's totally fine.
Undubbed anime is considered to be a pure and superior product. Some of the dubbed stuff loses something in the translation. However, its NOT okay for the guys to insult and threaten you. Make sure that you report this behavior to the moderator.
No. Not everyone can speak Japanese. And those who say it's wrong if you don't are idiots. Though Anime is Japanese doesn't mean it's something that everyone else from other cultures can't enjoy! Korean pop music is SOOOO big right now, how many fans of it ACTUALLY speak Korean?! Not as many as you'd think! Anyways, If you want to dedicate yourself to learning Japanese, I'd say go for it! Though it's a very complex language. Don't let others hurt your feelings though!
