please explain in as much detail. Im also not quite clear about the stages. are the stages different sub-types of MS as in if you have relapsing-remiting MS, will it always remain like that or are the 4 stages more of a catogory of severity which every MS sufferer goes through?
Ive tried researching but i still dont 100% understand
thank you

There are no stages to MS. The majority of us who have this disease live relatively normal lives. We have careers, marry raise the kids and die of old age.
The majority of us have the relapsing/remitting form of the disease. Approximately 10 to 15% of us have a progressive form of the disease. And while some of us who have relapsing/remitting MS will progress into secondary progressive MS, most will not. The other form of MS is primary progressive.

The reason you are having difficulty understanding this disease is that there are only two sites that have reliable information about MS. The other sites contain tons of misinformation. The best site is the National Multiple Sclerosis Society website at http://www.nmss.org/

I would want to start off light and work up to find the least amount of medicine necessary to cover the pain and add something stronger as needed for breakthrough pain. A good starting regimen might be lyrica routinely with tramadol for breakthrough or possibly adding the tramadol routinely to the the lyrica and keeping some norco for the breakthrough pain.
