Hi Little blue,
Changing dog foods will make your pup have diarrhea and goats milk is to rich to be giving him..So both are causing the diarrhea, but this shouldn't cause him to look sick and not want to play..I would take him to a vet A.S.A.P. He may have the first signs of Parvo..Parvo is a killer in puppies and adult dogs.. If he has Parvo I would get a hold of the breeder you got him from.. They had to know they sold you a sick puppy and the whole litter are all probably sick..
Good Luck and I truly hope your pup will be alright..

Question
IS MY LABRADOR PUPPY SICK?
I just got a black 7 wk Lab 3 and a half days ago. We changed the food from what the woman who owned him because it wasn't the best possible food, so i got him bakers puppy food also with a little puppy goats milk.
1) You don't go out & instantly change the food 100% it can easily upset the digestive tract. You mix in 1/4 of the new with the old & only get to 100% of new food, after about a week.
2) Any milk source can cause diarrhea, because puppies LOOSE the enzymes nec. to handle milk, in many cases. (STOP the goat's milk, ASAP!)
2a) I have been in dogs & prof. showing for 25 years, never heard of Baker's food, so I question their "wonderfulness".
3) Diarrhea might be due to the diet (you did at least 2 things that could cause it) but lethargy is a BAD sign. Get pup to a vet ASAP, don't wait. Your pup could have kennel cough (runny nose) or worse, Parvo, which may kill it. Puppies have few if any maternal antibodies left at 7 wk. & must be housed very carefully (not taken out in public other than vet's) until they get all their shots. If exposed to Parvo or Lepto, they can get so sick they will not survive. You can't be TOO careful!
I'm not suprised he's sick coming away from his mum before 8 weeks old, when they need this time to build a good immune system ( to stop illness) and to learn behaviours from mum and siblings like bite inhabition, then you changing his food as "it wasnt the best possible food" and feeding him Bakers, which is the worse possible food anyone could feed a dog, a grocery brand full of cheap fillers and additives not tolerated by dogs let alone of no nutritional value. But Purina spend thousands on pretty pictures on the box and flash advert on TV and call it a food suitable to feed dogs, what they don't tell you it is no good for a dog.................but there again manufacturers of dog food don't have to comply by ingredients rules because there are none.
My advice would be go to the vet now, throw the Bakers away,( with this rubbish don't even think about slowly changing brand, just do it and today) your pup would be better off being fed the cardboard box, change its food to a good quality super premium like James Wellbeloved, Burns, Fish for Dogs and build this puts immune system up starting with some Lactol puppy milk and keep your fingers crossed that this pup survives
Dogs can be very sensitive to changes in diet. Go buy a small amount of the food he was previously eating and see if he will eat that. If so, then over the next week start mixing in a bit more of the new food each day untill he gets used to it.
At 7 weeks old he should be pretty well weened and probably does not need the milk, especially if he wasnt using goats milk previously.
If he still won;t eat after switching his food, take him to a vet pronto.
Unfortunately, you can't just switch a dog's food from what he was eating to something new. You have to mix the old and the new and over time the old is out and the new is in. I've never heard of milk for a dog and Goat's Milk is very rich and his tummy just can't handle it. Since his nose is runny and he's tired and such, take him to the vet. Also, ask the vet what food he recommends. Good luck.
Take him to the vet today. He may have swallowed something and it's got stuck in his gut, or it might be an infection.
It doesn't sound as if you had any confidence in the breeder, so I wonder why you bought the puppy from there.
There are better foods than this, by the way. Ask your local Labrador Club for advice.
Food should be changed a little at a time. I'd go to a vet soon! and have your pup checked. You could have been sold a sick pup. Always use care!
when you change a dog to a different food, you should split the new food and the old food 50/50. that way, he should be less likely to get diarrhea, and he'll be more likely to eat the new food because it's mixed with something he is familiar with. either that, or your lab may be a picky eater and you should try something different. hope this helps
okay the worst thing you could have done is just changed the food one day. you have to gradually change it because a change in the diet makes them sick if you do it too quickly
Get him to the vet today.
He could have a serious illness or parvo.
