If you grew up a redhead, you know what I am talking about.
Update:No, the fact that you can hide your red hair, which is quite honestly the best hair color there is, doesn't make it okay.
The African Americans I know are proud to be black and wouldn't hide it even if they could, that doesn't change the fact that it isn't right to ostracize them.
I do concede that "gingerism" is not as harsh as racism... It usually ends in adult in the US, Although it is MUCH worse in the UK...

Gingerism-lol! I haven't often encountered that, but it is annoying. Luckily there are lots of people who find us 'gingers' very attractive. :)
You guys are wrong. It is definitely comparable to racism. You are born with the hair and skin type, just like an Asian, African American, etc. Changing your hair and wearing making doesnt make you a different person. If you are black you could technically put on tons of makeup all over and "pretend" to be white. Hating "gingers" is still discrimination and in my opinion, like all discrimination, is disgusting and completed unnecessary.
People with ginger hair aren't a race of people like muslims aren't a race of people as any white person can convert. What 'ginger' people experience is prejudice. Think of people who are obese. They get teased just like i was because i was short, but there isn't a race of short or fat people. Everyone has been riduculed to some extent or other, it's how you deal with it that's important. You can change your hair colour if you want if it's bothering you with hair dye, a Black person can't change their skin colour or erase their heritage as easily.
You put on makeup, you dye your hair, and the ginger features disappear. I put on makeup, I dye my hair, and I look like a black girl with an ashy face and a jacked up hairdo. In other words, gingers aren't a race, therefore it isn't comparable to racism.
No because you can dye your hair colour
