Talking to someone is always helpful... And medication can be good, if talking doesn't help.
However, if you're looking for ideas:
1) Diet.
I do not mean go on a diet. I mean take a serious look at your current diet, and get rid of the unhealthy cr*p that your body doesn't need. Try removing all preservatives, added sugar, eggs, dairy, and wheat products for about two weeks. See if that helps. If it does, add the items back in one at a time, allowing for a few days with each thing before you add something else. If the depression comes back or gets worse again, you know what it is you can't eat. An unhealthy diet can affect the way your body (and therefore your brain) functions.
2) Exercise.
A moderate exercise routine releases endorphins, which improves mood. Try adding a 20-minute jog to your daily routine and see what happens.
3) Socialize.
Humans are social creatures. We need other people. Introverts need people less than extroverts, but we all need people sometimes. Go out and hang out with your friends. Make new friends. Talk to your family. Join a club that does an activity you like.
4) Enjoy yourself.
If you like reading, read a book. If you like painting, paint something. Do things you enjoy.
These are all things that are usually helpful to people with depression. They may not get rid of everything, but many people find that they help to lessen symptoms, and some actually find that by doing these things, they get rid of the depression altogether. Try your luck and see what you can get out of it.
Its hard to get over depression. I've been there and back and it sucks. Recovery takes a while. It took me about three months to get over my depression. You just have to look in the mirror and say Hey I'm amazing and I shouldn't take any crap from anybody. Say that every day until you believe it. Hang out with friends or siblings you know will make you feel better. You have to believe you are a real catch you will start to feel better I promise. Oh and find someone you can talk to about all the problems you are having.
I feel you and I'm sorry I don't think I can help much I'm in the same situation
I'm on medication unfortunately although I didn't want them but I couldn't find a way out especially with my parents pushing me to take them even if I don't want them
I hope you find a way out! Good luck.
