I see little car import companies in denmark that import left hand drive (wheel on the right side of the car) cars from japan. what are the tax benefits of this?
The total tax charge on a normal sized car in Denmark is about 189%. In order to to achieve a realistic selling price the pre-tax price in Denmark is significantly lower than in the UK, then the VAT back here is 20%, with no other taxes. I looked into this 20 years ago, when Sterling was a petro-currency at about 16 DKK to the £. Now the rate is more like 9.35 DKK . I was looking at a Toyota 4 door crew cab pick-up ( South African market ) with uprated A/C, suspension, and full service kit. Still think about it
