Usually I take my 6month female black Lab to the forest where she plays fetch and runs around the field until she's tired however after reading large amounts of exercise can cause hip dysplasia I'm concerned and worried to as how much running I should let her do. She isn't over weight, she has an amazing shiny black coat and the vet today asked if he could 'adopt' her so she must be in good health so yeah I was just wondering how much exercise exactly should I give her?
Update:Exactly me thoughts Lee ;)

Slowing down a Lab is like telling a football player to run a little slower when he heading for a touchdown.Let the dog enjoy life.Labs are prone to get hip problems,But you shouldn't restrict his exercise. He will let you know when he's had enough. That's the joy of owning a field dog.
As a lab she will need alot of exercise as they are extremely energetic, and she sounds to be in really good condition.
i dont think that Hip dysplasia can be caused by to much exercise alone but other factors aswell, if her parents didn't sufferer from it then she will have less chance of getting it.
ya my friends dog has hip dysplasia and you just dont want him to get fat or it will get bad.
i dont really thing too much exercise is bad at all, i thinks hes better off runnung more... but im not vet, (we have to same avatar :D)
