I got a Laney LV300 Twin for my birthday a couple years back. Now, when I play it, it cuts out once in a while. The sound doesn't cut out completely. It just gets really quiet. I've tried using different cables and different guitars and it happens with all of them so I'm fairly certain it's a problem with the amp. I have no idea what's wrong with it and I love this thing to death, so I don't want to have to replace it. Any ideas?

If I remember right, there's an effects loop in that amp. Do you have anything plugged into it?
If not, then try this...plug a regular guitar cable from the send back to the receive and see if that fixes the problem. You might want to leave it there for a while to see if you actually solved the problem.
What happens is that when those jacks aren't used for a long period of time the contacts become corroded. On effects loop jacks, they have switches built into the jacks that pass the signal along if nothing is plugged into them. Those switch contacts get cruddy, and the signal cuts out.
If that seems to fix it, then I would take the amp to a tech and have him open it up and clean all of the jacks (and the pots while he has it open). It's shouldn't be more than 1 hour of shop time.
If that does not fix it, then it could be several dozen other things...anything from a cold solder joint to a failing capacitor. Either way, you're back to the tech shop.
Good luck.

If their is a drop in the volume, have you checked your Tubes in the pre-amp? Once of them can heat and cause the Gain to drop.
