so i asked this question before and got answers i specifically asked to be avoided
so my laptop had a battery
i accidentally bought a new charger that was too powerful
i first thought that i fried my battery so i bought a new one
the new one worked but i discovered that the common theme was that neither battery would charge
(even with the correct charger)
so im guessing there is some wire that got wrecked or fuse between the plug and the battery that blew or something to that effect
because the laptop runs fine when it is just plugged in with no battery
but as you can imagine its quite frustrating
so lets review
im not asking about getting a new battery
im not asking weather or not i should send it into dell for repairs
all im asking is for someone with knowledge about the inner workings of a laptop to diagnose what the problem may be
i have a dell 1558 studio laptop
the battery is rated for 11V and the charger i accidentally used was 19V
if you have any questions ask
help appreciated
thank you muchly
Update:THANK YOU!!
that is all i wanted to know thank you very much!

you have blown the charging circuit which is part of the motherboard. Like it or not, this is NOT a simple wire or fuse gone, it probably requires the replacement of the motherboard.
Replacement motherboard would be necessary, which really means laptop replacement in terms of cost...
