Hey,

its hooked up to a router and has internet, but now, when I
plug that same LAN cable in my Laptop, the lights doesnt show
up nor says it that I have connection.
Is it because of the Lan cable or because of my laptop? I dont think the input
of my laptop is damaged, because bevor I moved I connected it to my
Computer and it worked fine, well can anybody help me pls? Another
LAN cable maybe or any computersetting change?
Additional Details
I just checked everything, and by Local Area Connection it says that everything
will connect automaticly, also it shows me that theres a LAN cable attached,
BTW: I got Win7, but it helped me with the XP thing to look, just saying, incase

I had a similar subject and that is what I´va discovered/understood. carry out IPCONFIG or IPCONFIG /ALL on the computing gadget with the subject. in case you have an IP tackle 169.254.x.x it s very probable that the community card is working ideal. The IP 169.254.x.x is assigned while the community adapter can no longer detect a DHCP server. it may be that DHCP isn't enabled to your connection (no longer very probable). it may be that DHCP has a small IP variety and you have dispensed all IPs on it (additionally no longer very probable, considering the fact which you're assigned in maximum cases greater advantageous than 20 computers which could be linked at a given 2d. That the MAC tackle of the community card isn't in the a threat variety of known enjoying cards. I checked the settings that I even have for my connection by potential of beginning off a browser internet site by potential of going to the tackle back by potential of the IPCONFIG command listed as DEFAULT GATEWAY. For my particular subject, i'm employing a modem/router of modern-day make/variety (a 2wire 2701HG-T) that regarded to no longer be ideal recognizing my community card (a RALINK on the spot PCI card WgP/G with a RT61 chipset) and had to request help with my ISP to reset the WEP key for my modem/router. in short, i might recommend to reset/replace the WEP key with assistance of the ISP.
