The cheapest method would be to spend 15 to 20 bucks on an external USB hard drive enclosure, put the drive in and connect it to a working pc. You can then copy all the files you want to keep.
You have quite a bit of options to do. It'll start with this:
Do you want to do it yourself or get someone else?
Likely, doing it yourself will save you money, but if you aren't computer savvy whatsoever, you may lose everything anyway.
If you want to do it yourself, I suggest replacing the screen. That's the safest method to start with and probably the first I would do. You can buy a screen at any electronic store, I believe, if your laptop isn't crazy old. To replace it, YouTube usually has videos on almost all laptops. Look that up before buying anything, of course to see if there are any videos of your laptop specifically.
If not, you can take the data out by taking out your hard drive and manually plugging it in to another computer. Be careful with it. Take out the hard drive from your laptop and mount it to another computer. You need specific plugs for it and specific regions to plug it in to another computer (usually found inside the other computer). You can find these plugs at an electronic store. Ask around and be sure you know how your hard drive plug looks like. Or you can buy an enclosure case. Either way.
Otherwise, if you hire someone, I really recommend finding an electronic store to replace that screen. Your hard drive (storage of your data) sounds fine, so pulling data out might be a waste of time/money. I don't know the price of getting data out of a working hard drive, but getting data out of a BROKEN hard drive can cost around $4000. That's for broken hard drives only. Yours sounds fine to me. I doubt it's that much or remotely close.
If you prefer to get the data out, your alternative is to get another computer to put that data in.
Why would your location? It's more of a situation of the company. Do you have a warranty on the computer, if not try going to the company and tell them to give you a new screen. Screens cost around $50-75. If the company is far away then ship it to the company and give the money by credit/debit card.
