yes I am a Mexican living in Mexico, most people make a big party and the tradition is to sing some people inside some people outside the house. the ones outside ask shelter and the ones inside deny it , just before the song ends the people inside allow them to get into and the party starts, with a lot of food (fruit tea, hojuelas, etc, etc), music
Very much. A village near where we live has a week long Posada celebration going on every evening. They go through all the barrios with the Joseph and Mary and people singing, stopping at certain houses where a religious scene is set up. Each scene has real people and many are very elaborate. It ends with a party at the local church.
We are invited to a La Posada Celebration this weekend but are not sure exactly what to expect. This is apparently a large party to collect presents for poor families.

Yes, as an employer of Mexican people, we have a Posada to thank them for their work and give gifts to their children.
