Well, we all knew that that was a lie when he said it. An administration ans radical as the Obama administration cannot risk being transparent. I don't understand how so many people don't see this.
I disagree with you. Cut the guy some slack, will you? Have you peeked in at the two websites (among many) set up for public access: whitehouse.gov and recovery.gov? There are other sites to which you can gain access through these two main ones, as well. The Obama administration is the first one to release the names of all official visitors to the White House, so long as there is no covert or clandestsine element to the visit. The recovery.gov site shows how every single Recovery and Reinvestment Act dollar was used at federal and state levels, and gives the public a chance to give input or ask questions. For the BP oil spill, a special site was established by the administration so that anyone could go in and discover all the actions taken, the pending actions, how resources were being used, the costs, etc. The President has been openly candid during media interviews or at his town hall meetings, such as when asked if the new Egyptian government was our ally and President Obama said, "No, they are not our ally, but they are also not our enemy---they are a work in progress" the week of the Cairo outburst against our Embassy. Right after President Obama said this, the new leader in Egypt sent military equipment and troops to disperse the demonstrators and quell the unrest, so President Obama's simple honesty may have sparked a positive response.
Don't buy into the hidden-agenda tripe, trivia, and malarkey emanating incessantly from the far-rightwing extremists in control of the GOP and their hate-mongering bile-spewers Faux "news", self-loathing heroin addict Rush Limbaugh, etc. You will discover, if you do, that you end up on the wrong side of history backing the wrong...er...diarrheal elephant.
