Absolutely not. At least not by anyone with an understanding and love of poetry. It is true that the romantic style of William Wordsworth and his contemporaries is somewhat passe today, but a good romantic poem will never be out of style, just as good realistic paintings (as opposed to abstract, cubism, op-art, etc.) will always be in demand. You might want to look at poems by Sara Teasdale, two died in the 1930's, and Nan Terrell Reed's "Vases". Also, Frank Labaty, who is living and writing today, and has several poems included in the publication, "A Collection of the World's Most Romantic Poetry."

To laugh with a poem is to laugh with one's ignorance and incapacity to 'understand' poetry.

And the trick word here is 'understand'.

Because one does not understand poetry. One cannot undersand poetry.

Poetry is not about words weaved into lyrics. This is songmaking and any fool can do that. Poetry is about emotions and sensations portrayed by words.

When you read poetry you should look past the words used and focus on the emotions created.

So I am pretty sure ppl laughed with poems througout the centuries. Okay maybe today they would be more people lauging (such are the times we live in) but there would certainly be those that would properly appreciate a good poem.

I haven't read many of his poems but I don't think clouds are lonely. I think words today are too harsh and lack meaning compared to how words were spoken two hundred years ago.
