How much is enough for 2 months in LA if I have place to live and to eat(with little exceptions). Before I find a job(I count some 2 months), what sum is a minimum needed and with which I will survive. I will live with my husband in his appartement. So I need to spend on public transport sometimes and maybe driving licence, English courses(optional), so just try to find a job, I need some money for that too :)
Thank you very much.

There are a lot of factors to decide before you know how much money.
1. If you use the city bus, public transit isn't that expensive (around $1.00) but it depends on how often you will need to go out. I would say $500 should be more than enough to pay for 2 months of public transit (as long as you're not taking a taxi).
2. Driver's license is around $25. You will need a birth certificate and other form of identification.
3. This is the prices for English lessons:
Intensive English Program (30 lessons per week)
$1280 PER 4-WEEK SESSION
$340 PER WEEK IF LESS THAN 4 WEEKS
Semi Intensive Plus English Program (24 lessons per week)
$1120 PER 4-WEEK SESSION
$295 PER WEEK IF LESS THAN 4 WEEKS
Semi Intensive English Program (20 lessons per week)
$995 PER 4-WEEK SESSION
$270 PER WEEK IF LESS THAN 4 WEEKS
Individual Intensive English Program (20 lessons per week)
$5200 PER 4-WEEK SESSION
$1300 PER WEEK IF LESS THAN 4 WEEKS
Combination Course (20 group lessons per week + 10 individual lessons per week)
$3595 PER 4-WEEK SESSION
$920 PER WEEK IF LESS THAN 4 WEEKS
Part Time Course (10 lesson per week)
$525 PER 4-WEEK SESSION
$150 PER WEEK IF LESS THAN 4 WEEKS
Academic Semester (30 lessons per week)
$6050 PER 22 WEEKS
Academic Year (30 lessons per week)
$8500 PER 34 WEEKS
Or maybe you could buy a video program such as Rosetta Stone. It would probably be much cheaper.
why dont you ask your husband?
note: you can take esl (english as a second language) almost anywhere in california free or nearly free. that is a fact. english is offered freeeeeeeee
it cost around 8.oo usd for round trip on the train and cheaper for bus
your husband obviously provides your roof and food
if you spend more than 100.00 per week on food you'll get hugely fat
your husband can teach you to drive otherwise lessons might be costly. the license doesnt cost much under $50.00 i believe
you can go to the local edd office for employment which costs nothing. or canvas the area on foot where you want to work, make phone calls, send out resumes via mail or fax etc to save on transportation. bring a water bottle and a sack lunch from home.
good luck dear
I don't know but my son just found out last night he is moving to Los Angeles from D.C. so I guess I will find out soon. If you can change your e-mail & just e-mail me an e-mail address I will let you know what I learn.
