What is the best route to get from Los Feliz to Pasadena during morning rush hour and how long does it typically take?
option 1: north on the 5 freeway, west on 134, west on 210
option 2: north on 2 freeway, west on 134, west on 210
option 3: or some combination of freeway and local streets (?)
Are any of the segments of freeway mentioned above almost always congested?
Thanks in advance
Update:Sorry, I meant EAST on 134 and EAST on 210

Hi there!
I used to live in South Pasadena, then moved to Los Feliz. Now I'm even further south, but I am VERY familiar with this traffic pattern.
Personally, I can't stand Los Feliz Blvd. It is never fun. Therefore, from my experience, Option 1 is out.
The 2 is your best bet over the 5 anyday! Always take the 2 to 134 and you'll be golden.
Now, to get to the 2 with the least amount of headache...it depends on exactly where you'll be coming from in "The Liz" (as I call it affectionately) but in general:
Head East on Fountain until it turns into Hyperion.
Stay on Hyperion as it veers North-ish (Left) and follow it until Rowena. (Just past the TJs)
Turn Right on Rowena. Follow Rowena until you hit Fletcher.
Go Left on Fletcher.
Follow signs to the 2 North and....Bingo...you're home free.
Try it and see if you like it! It was tried and true favorite for me for a long time.
Good Luck!

Come off the M25 and head for the M1. Head north and leave the M1 and go on to M6 at Rugby and carry on for two hundred and fifity miles and leave the M6 at junction 35. Here you will find yourself in gods own country...The Lake District
