Do you think that the Louisiana Purchase is constitutional or unconstitutional and why? And also do you think its good or bad for the country? Please include facts so I know for sure, thanks!
The Federalists did not favor the purchase because if was basically paying a large sum of money just to declare war on Spain. So, some believed it was constitutional and some did not. I believe that it was against the constitution, but I also believe that it was necessary in the long run. For one, it got Napoleon out of American territory. It also allowed the United States to open shipping ports, now the US could ship goods in and out without the tax from the French.

It was Constitutional. It was great for the country. It cost less than 3 cents an acre. That is a great deal at any time.
