It is the time from ovulation to the first day of mensuration. If you are not charting it can be a bit difficult to calculate, if you are fairly regular it will be about 12-16 days BEFORE the start of your period.

Luteal Phase, it begins the day after you ovulate which is considered 1 day past ovulation up until you see your period. The first day of blood flow is cycle day 1 so that day is not counted in the days of your LP.
So calculate from the day after you ovulate up until the day before your period arrived.
