There aren't that many important differences between the Air and the Pro:
- The Air has no DVD drive, while the Pro (the non-Retina versions) do;
- The Air is more expensive, mainly because of the SSD (although it *is* worth it);
- The Air is considerably thinner and lighter (and as such easier to carry) than the Pro.
Although the MacBook Air's technical specs aren't as good as the Pro's, the Air is by no means a slow or weak machine. I have not found the lack of a DVD drive to be an issue at all with the Air.
It comes down to how much you will be moving the computer. I bought the Air because it is an easy-to-carry, yet powerful laptop with a long-lasting battery. If you just need a good computer that doesn't necessarily cost over $2000, go with the Pro.
Definitely Pro! You can't insert any disks in an Air, and Airs are only for people who need a light laptop to carry around all the time. But for me, I carry around my pro and I'm kinda getting used to the weight, lol.

Pro, absolutely. The only reason you would ever get an AIR is if you needed the light weight package it comes in.
