Soo, I need a new laptop because my current dell inspiron 1545 (2009) is falling apart and i need a lot of things replaced like the battery, a new ac adapter, and a lot of other stuff. So i'd like to make the switch to mac, Please dont say PC's are cheaper and better. I've decided on the macbook pro and ive been going back and forth with 13 and 15. I just don't know what to get. I'm a high school student, and I pay for everything I want myself. This mac is going to be used for everyday computing and minor video editing. I'm so used to my dell's 15 inch screen, so i keep reconsidering the 15 inch. Though, when i go to college in 3 years, I don't want to buy a new smaller laptop if the 15 inch is in good condition, so should i get the more portable 13 inch? or get the bigger, nicer 15 inch?
Thanks

I was in the same ship as you when I bought my Macbook Pro. I went with the 15" and I love it. I watch movies and play games its all good. The thing I don't like about it is that its heavy and of course bigger. If you have to take it school every once in a while then you do its not a big deal but if you do it everyday then I would go smaller. So the question you want to ask is am I going to take it places?
I would go with the bigger one because it is something you are use to and you are going to have it a long time.
Also I would wait till the summer because that is when Apple has deals. Like for me I got a free iPod touch and $100 off my printer.
Coming from a PC owner who also had a 15" HP Pavilion & now own a 13" MacBook Pro, I'd say either the 13 or 15 is fine. I would recommend the 15" but if you are looking to save money the 13" would be fine as well. I got used to it quickly & it has the same resolution as my 15" did so images look better on it.
Well as you are more familiar with 15" screen going to 13" will be damn pain full !
i will personally recommend you the 15 " model with low specs as you will be using it for daily computing !
also minor video editing can be easily done on iMovies that come free with MacBooks and are extremely powerful for home movies editing
also if you are speaking abt portability , even 15 " is portable ! i know Windows pcs you have used with 15" seem to be less portable because of there fatness also there ugly !! looks ! but macbook pro 15" is indeed sexy and slim which makes it extremely portable !!
i think instead of waisting your time here of watching comments , answers reviews just go to any apple store ,and have a look yourself ! man this is Apple you can actually have a feel of both of them !!
and then purchase them...
