Deciding which laptop would be best for my needs. Planning on using it a lot for its multimedia tools (ie. Garageband, iMovie, etc.), along with regular activity such as surfing the web or using storing photos.
I have been leading towards the Pro, since it seems like it would have more of a capacity for dense files such as pictures and videos. But is there really much of a difference? Is Pro more reliable than the regular brand? If so, are some models better than others?
Finally, are there any other laptops, other than Apple models, which host good, easy-to-use multimedia programs without the Macbook price tag?
Thank you!

It's not more reliable just have a little better specs. If I was planning on doing video editing and multimedia stuff or I was a big gammer I would go with the pro, otherwise the standard Macbook is just fine. It just has more processing power and a couple other things that make it a little more high end, it has nothing to do with the reliability. As far as the other non-Apple branded computers, there are definitely a lot of good PC's out there that would be able to handle multimedia stuff but if I was you I would stick with a mac. Multimedia is their specialty and although it is true that you'll pay a little more for the Apple logo, it's not as much as some people exaggerated it to be. If I were to take apart the Macbook and purchase all the parts individually to build it as a PC, it would still be a high end PC.
I would have to go with the Macbook pro, the Macboook Pro is newer then the Macbook which means that they have put more updates. The Macbook Pro is faster than the Macbook. It has more Applications then the Macbook. It would does not get easily get damaged or crashes. It has better Graphics (it does have more capacity for dense files) then macbook. So yes there is a lot of differences. No there are no other good laptops beside the Apple laptop that host good easy-to-use multimedia.
It is hard for PC to handle Multipedia.
Hope this helps
There is not a large difference between the regular Macbook and 13" Pro, but the 15" Pro is much more expensive because its better for intensive tasks, but the 13" models should your needs well.
No difference in pix except you're getting between the better end experts. there's a .27GHz difference (leaning interior the experts favour, of direction), and two times as lots RAM for a large-unfold sort. even though, the storage is decreased from 250 to a hundred and sixty GB from the standard to the pro. it somewhat is ninety GB down the tubes for the inflated cost. For a universal client, i'd recommend the Macbook.. even though i individually savor my Acer Ferrari. ;)
In most cases, all you need is a MacBook.
MacBook Pros simply have the capability to be more powerful.
I use a MacBook for HD video editing in Final Cut Pro and it works just fine (this is a hard task for most computers to do).
