I Like MARVEL better, Im not sure why but DC never really appealed to me. Probably because of Superman's overpoweredness and Batmans slightly pedophilic tendencies . . . but maybe thats just me
This is really how you view comic books. For me, I think Marvel is more well written and takes more of a challenge and here is why:
Marvels hero's are powerful but there villains are more powerful then them. I see it like this; 4 out of 5 times Batman is going to win in a street fight against Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Freeze, and Cat Woman. Superman is going to do the same against Lex Luthor, Zod, Darkseid, and Metallo. Which means all you have to do is put them in a room against eachother and the hero's will win. In Marvel its different. Spiderman is good but Venom is bigger, stronger, and faster then spidy. Juggernaut beats up the X-Men time after time as well as Magneto, Sinister and Apocalypse. And how many Fantastic Four does it take to beat Doom. Galactus eats planets, Mafesto kills all, and Thanos is the only villain to beat every character in existence and that goes for all stories, not just comics.
So what I'm saying is, it takes more of a challenge for the hero's to beat the villain. For DC, the story can always end saying, 'the hero caught up to the villain and beat him up.'
I read both Marvel and DC, but I tend to lean more towards Marvel. Although I believe that DC has a bigger selection of titles to choose from, there's no denying that Marvel is more "edgy" and the writers for their titles aren't afraid to push the limits.
I'll just say they're both the best since day one, Marvel and DC have been in the Comic industry for like 4 decades and still going strong.
DC's got their best and Marvel's got their best, and their movies are epic and legendary, movies like The Batman Saga, Dark Knight, Spider-Man, X-men, Hulk, Ghost Rider and among others.
so this is the reason I choose both DC and Marvel.
DC comics for individual super heroes that I liked with interesting darker storylines than Marvel. Marvel for group superheros and for the more purer superheros.
