What are the differences between mascara and eye liner? When did you start wearing either of them? Which one is healthier? I kinda want to start wearing eye liner but then I hear about mascara. I don't know if that is the same or different. And also I don't know if I am old enough. Would it be weird to not wear makeup during sixth and seventh grade but then during the summer get it done and come to school in eigth grade with it on. Im 13.

mascara is a liquid which is used for your eyelashes to make it longer and have more volume.
eye liner is also a liquid which is use on the top lid of your eyes. But be carefully eye liner can be messy and a bit tricky and you have to have a certain technique. I advice you to go on youtube and look for liquid eye liner tutorials they are really helpful.
There is also eye liner pencil were you put it on you bottom eye lid crease and it make it look darker and stand up. This one is not as tricky but it can make your eyes watery. Because your only 13 and new to make up i think you should just use mascara for a while and get use to it and the start to try others.
Hope this helps :D
Mascara is makeup for your eyelashes, it makes them stand out a bit more because it coats them in black make up, showing the thickness and length of them better. If you use this, make sure you have an eyelash comb because mascara often clumps and makes parts of eyelashes get stuck together.
Eyeliner is used to line the ends of your eyelids... kinda. There are many different tutorials on Youtube because putting on eyeliner can be difficult at first depending on what kind you use. If you don't really know what it is, I suggest looking on Youtube and tutorials before just going at it with a blind eye. Eyeliner comes in many different colors. Most people use black or brown since it goes with anything. But there's also blue, purple, pink, and pretty much every other color out there. But make sure you're not going too crazy or too dark if you use a color. You can get an eyeliner pencil- it's a bit easier to handle for first timers so I suggest using that. Water liner- it's usually used for lining your lower eyelid where your eyelashes and inner eyelid meet. Liquid liner- it can come in a pen or a small bottle. Both have brushes and are well, liquid. These are a lot harder to work with but create bolder lines.
If you really want to go crazy with colors, then just use eye shadow and an eye shadow brush.
Considering your age, I would say a few swipes of mascara is enough makeup right now. Too much can make you look too old and a bit goofy. Trust me I know. If you do thin lines of eyeliner then you could do both.

RE:
Mascara vs. Eye Liner?
What are the differences between mascara and eye liner? When did you start wearing either of them? Which one is healthier? I kinda want to start wearing eye liner but then I hear about mascara. I don't know if that is the same or different. And also I don't know if I am old enough. Would it...
Everyone else pretty much summed it up but i would like to add that if you already have beautiful lengthy eyelashes you shouldn't ruin them with daily mascara application because you will notice in time that your eyelashes have become shorter and thinner and take a while to get long again if they actually do continue to grow back.
You're 13 in the eighth grade that's totally old enough to wear eyeliner and mascara.
By eighth grade i was wearing foundation, eyeliner, mascara, blush, lip gloss, and learned to do various types of smokey eyes (but this isnt the typical 13 year old makeup i just learned from my mom)
Dont worry you'll look gorgeous!
Mascara makes your eyelashes look longer and defines your eyes. Eyeliner just defines your eyes. The person who said it makes them look bigger is wrong as you would not wear white eyeliner above your lash line and only on your waterline, so if anything, black eyeliner makes your eyes look the same as it usually would. I started wearing them a couple of years back when I was about 12. They are different as you put liquid eyeliner above your lash line and pencil eyeliner on your waterline. If you are going to pick one first, I would begin with mascara as that too defines your eyes but not as well as eyeliner does, but it makes your eyelashes longer and makes your face look less boring. As long as you know how to apply it and don't apply loads, then you are fine to begin wearing makeup. I recommend the Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner by Collection 2000 for your first eyeliner. So cheap and it really good. I recommend Scandaleyes Lycra Flex mascara by Rimmel London.
Eyeliner goes on first, for right now you'll just want to put it right on the edge of your eyelid behind your eyelashes. It's like a pencil, you're basically just coloring, haha.
Mascara has a wand, and you brush it over your eyelashes to make them look darker, longer, and more voluminous. I find mascara much more beneficial and easy, but some people feel the same way about eyeliner.
I started wearing mascara between 6-7th grade, then I wore eyeliner occasionally throughout 7th grade. It's not incredibly noticeable, so people probably find it weird for you to come to school with it all on.
Do NOT put too much eyeliner on, it looks trashy for everyday life. Some girls just look like raccoons when they put on too much eyeliner, haha.
Ask your mom, aunt, or another female who wears mascara/eyeliner to help you when you start out, or watch some Youtube videos to help you out :) Good luck!
Well it depends on what type of eyeliner your talking about! Liquid eyeliner you put on your upper lash line on the top of your eye and pencil eyeliner you put on that white-ish pink-ish bit inside of your eye on the bottom of it! And mascara you just add coats to your eyelashes... I usually wear liquid eyeliner and mascara on most days which is really nice because it makes me eyes have more shape and have a more defined look! :)
You are not too young. 13 is a good age to start wearing mascara... Welcome to the makeup world ;)
Also look up on youtube makeup tutorials! They are really helpful! Michelle Phan is an extraordinary makeup artist :)
Mascara is makeup which is applied to your eyelashes. This adds colour to them and makes them look bigger.
Eyeliner adds colour to your eyes and (depending on how you do it), can make your eyes look bigger or smaller
By the way, aged 13 is OK to start wearing mascara. That's when I first began wearing make up
Mascara is for your eyelashes. It makes you look like you have long eyelashes. Eyeliner is lining your eyes. It makes you look like your eyes are bigger and wider. I started wearing makeup in 6th grade. (I know that's really early but I only used it for certain occasions.) Both of them aren't healthy?
