Neither is right. If you're in a relationship and you want to have an affair the safest thing to do is A)work on the problems that are leading you that way and if that fails B) break up and then proceed to the actions you were planning on taking.

Well an emotional affair is probably safer in the sense that you are less likely to get caught, due to the fact you can claim you are friends etc. A sexual affair you are more likely to get caught, but it is less risky for the guy as an individual, because he does not have the emotional connection with the person, and is more likely to end it when he realises what he is doing is wrong.

I would prefer none, but if i was going to choose one, i would say a sexual affair simply because it would be more fulfilling.

Depends on what you are lacking in your marriage. An emotional affair is more fulfilling but I feel a sexual affair is safer.
