I have the aspiration to learn how to sing opera, and i know it sounds dumb to most, but it's a big dream of mine. I am a moderately well singer and a soprano i just want some help and training and don't know where to start. i live in utah if there are classes locally anyone knows of.
thanks, Megan

there are a lot of opera opportunities in Utah. I would recommend calling the music department at your local college/uni and ask about a recommendation for a classical voice teacher. Opera includes many things (and all of these things need to be studied to be a professional- and it is SO hard to make it, you have to be dedicated, and there is luck involved). including vocal technique, acting, both comprehension and diction for many foreign languages, historical accuracy/performance practice, music theory/sight singing, also important to find your real range/fach (specific voice type- more specific than just "soprano")
There might also be a UT Music Teacher's Association where you could get a recommendation- from the national site- here's a link

or go here and put your zip and "voice" in the search fields to the bottom left
