Its the first day its only been about 8 hours and my gums hurt bad. that stuff that numbs ur mouth made them feel worse and painpills didnt really work lol does anyone have any suggestion on how to get rid of the pain??
If its only been 8 hours just wait. Eat soft foods like soup for awhile. Brush your teeth real well so they dont become infected. Take a couple of pain pills and use some orajel. I remember the paint didnt really got away for about a month. You have to get used to everything. Youll also get these sores in your mouth where the braces rub, those are not fun either.
I've had my braces on for a year now, hot saltwater rinses work well for me, also wax works well to protect the insides of ur cheeks and lips, other than that, be sure to eat soft foods like soup and yogurt! Stick in there, the pain will only lessen, the first consultation is by far the worst! good luck!
Im sorry, I have had braces for a year now. I hate to tell you but if nothing else has worked for you so far I doubt that anything else will. Sometimes I will suck on ice and it feels a bit better, and I also try to only eat foods that are soft and don't really have to be chewed. Good Luck.
LOL i have braces to and the same thing happened to me, it'll hurt less and less and finally the pain will be gone in at tops a week, eat soft foods, and do something to get your mind off of them, or take stronger pain medication depending on how old u r
I had Braces and they hurt so bad the first week I couldn't sleep. I iced my gums and popped Ibuprofen. Your gums will be swollen because braces start working the second they are put on and your teeth will not be used to them.
its natural to have some few days of pain when u first get braces.
its nothing serious. how i prevented the pain for me was that i got my mind of it and worried and thought about other things. so it still had some pain. but i ignored it. but the pain will go away within about 1-2 days.
Take a hot bath and then a long nap. It calms you down and when your more calm the pain will lessen. Only eat like spaghettios and applesauce so that you won't cause more pain like eating. If painkillers don't work your just going to have to go through it.
omg i remember when i first had them haha. except i got them on the day before my birthday and i went to disneyland and it freakin sucked ***- i couldnt eat anything. but...anyways...usually medicine should work but its just your gums have to get used to all the metal in your mouth, dont worry it should feel better in a week...just be patient

Try to stay away from chewy things and eat soup. Dont try any pills its not worth it its gonna go away in a few days

icing the jaw (on the outside of the mouth of course) should help, only chew soft foods for a day or two, pain should decrease gradually
