so i run cross country at school (2-3 miles a day) and i've been trying to eat really healthy like no junk food and not a lot of carbs. But since i'm considered an "athlete' i'm supposed to eat carbs for energy right? so my questions is what should i be eating and will it help me lose my love handles? and also what is good to eat before a run early in the morning?
Update:btw> i'm 15 and 5'2 and weight 115

Losing "weight" should not be your goal as an athlete, it should be losing "fat". What should you be eating? Healthy food. Read the ingredients. If you don't know what something is, don't eat it. Sugar/ fructose/etc., should not be one of the first ingredients on the list. You need to eat carbs, they provide energy for your muscles. Also, be sure to eat protein after your work-outs.
well you do need a few carbs for energy if u are n athlete but try to it balanced not just healthy casue you could faint once my freind went on this diet and she did loads of running and she wasnt eating protein so she fainted but that wont happen to you if you follow this.
food for the day:
breakfast-a selection of sliced fruit with a single yogurt
lunch-a shake if ya have a mixer. of straberries and milk.
tea-well you will oviously have different every night but heres one idea vegetables not microwaved ones or fried ones .steammed ones or cooked.and a fresh piece of cooked samon another one using samon is a salad with smoked samon on top.
tip:your drink accept for shakes should be water or light orange juice hope this helps
Just eat small, every 2-3 hours. Lots of protein and fibre. Good stuff! O, and excersice.
