well a couple of problems actually. When I try to turn it on, the lights lit up and it starts but less than a second later it shuts off, then back on, then off again, seems like it would go forever if I didn't remove the battery. So I open the laptop take out the cmos battery from the mobo and leave it out for abour 20 minutes. I put it back in and it boots up fine, but once I turn it off again I have the same problem (I have to take the cmos battery out for a few minutes everytime I want to boot it up)
and when it does boot up, it runs very sluggish and the sound from the speakers is very distorted.
I'm not exactly sure whats wrong with it, I'm not very tech savvy, I'm not afraid to open it up and tinker with it's insides as long as I don't have to deal with thermal paste or soldering. Any ideas on what it could be? The closest reputable tech place to me charges $25 just to look at my computer and then $50 an hour plus parts, if it's something I can remedy on my own I would make rather take that route.
It's an HP Pavilion DV6645 running Vista 32-bit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Update:I've scanned it for viruses and found nothing, I personally think it's a hardware issue, just not sure what. Could faulty RAM cause these symptoms?

i thinkit affected wit a virus.. like a very serious wun like a Trojan horse.. when u turn it back on.. try running a virus scan if u have a virus protection program like Norton, MaCafee or something like that.. if u don't have wun. then go to dis site to dwnlod a free program that wrks fine. i use it so here is da link http://free.avg.com/ww-en/download-avg-anti-virus-... is free so most of hte portection are not there but if wrks fine bloacking virus.. anyways i hope i helped.. if u didn't find any virus then try replacing the battery to a fresh new one... so i hope i helped. srry if i didn't... :)
