I am baby sitting for my nephew who is 10 weeks old and he has got conjunctivitis and we cant get him to the doctors untill tomorrow morning!
We have been cleaning his eyes with luke warm boiled water and wiping them with cotton wool.clean pieces everytime.

Nope..sounds like you're doing everything right.
Just make sure you DO get him into the doctor...and keep cleaning his little eye.
And make sure YOU wash your hands after each cleaning so that you don't spread it to his other eye or to your self....it's very contagious.
**BY the way...are you sure it's conjunctivitis? It's very likely with a child that age that you're dealing with a partially clogged tear duct. That may or may not have become infected. In which case...it's still infected but not necessary conjunctivitis and not nearly as contagious.
Good Luck
Hi,
Breast milk is very good for blocked tear ducts which probably this is.
So if the mum is breast feeding get her to put some breat milk in the eyes like drops. It is sterile so can not cause infection
If it is only in one eye turn the child to the unaffected eye so the infected eye does not move to the other eye.
Sometimes if the child has a cold or virus ,conjuctivis accompanies this and goes on it's own. Drs are reluctant to give antibotics.
Hope this helps
my 6 week old had this too, the health visitor told me to use warm water with a teaspoon of salt and dip a face cloth in and wipe from the inside out. do this 3 times a day i did and it cleared up within 3 days
when my daughter was a baby she had conjunctivitis and I was told by the doctor not to clean them with cotton wool etc as you;re just spreading the infection about
Why can't you get him in the doctors now? I suggest calling the doctor and telling them you need to have this baby seen, he needs to get eye medication, the poor thing must be so uncomfortable.
Can you get to the pharmacist? They may or may not recommend something as he is so young. If not, keep doing what you are doing, it will take several days to clear I'm afraid. Make sure you are not cross contaminating between eyes.
They make over-the-counter homeopathic treatments for that. I personally prefer Similasan Pink Eye Relief. I buy it at the grocery store.
Keep doing what you are doing. Why can't you get him into the doctor until tomorrow morning? I would take him to urgent care.
Is his mom breastfeeding? You can use some breastmilk as eye drops and this will help to clear it up.
Make sure you are washing your hands frequently so it doesn't spread!
