does anyone know how or where I could come across a copy of this game(I guess it was only released in japan) but didnt know if any copies might be here in the states.

You can find a port of Excite Bike for the Gameboy Advance on most clearance shelves ranging from $5-$10. Excite Bike is also heading for the Wii's online shop sometime over the course of 2007 for $5. Otherwise, for the NES version you can always check eBay.
