A1. the R4 is a flash cart that lets you put games/movies/music on your nintendo ds. there are many other flash carts besides the R4. its just the best known/most popular

A2. you buy it ($20-50) and a micro sd memory card ($20-80). you download files you need and transfer them to the memory card. then you stick the memory card in the R4, the R4 in your DS, and your good to go.

Q3. where i can buy it?

A3. they are not sold in stores so you will either have to buy it online or find someone locally who will sell you one. they make them in japan/china and ppl import them in.

A5. as of right now owning a flash cart is legal but puting games on it you dont own is illegal. (for example: having an mp3 player is legal but putting stolen music on it is illegal). it might be illegal to have it at all soon. nintendo and 50 other companies are suing the makers of the R4 so they'll stop making them. so it's gonna be really hard to find one right now. you'll prolly have to settle on another brand.

Q6. to get free games do u have to download roms?

A6. yes (roms = games), but like i said, downloading games you dont already own is illegal. like downloading music from the net your not buying, its only ok to make copies of things you own.
