a lot of laptops now have a composite port instead, it's the yellow cable of the red, white and yellow cables referred to as RCA cables, red being right audio, white left audio, and yellow is video, since it's a video output on a laptop it will just have the video, so just look around for that, sometimes they're not yellow though but it will look exactly the same, and you can use a set of rca cables you have lying around to hook it to the tv, then just set the tv to video1 or whatever the input is on the television.
