I had a somewhat odd and uncomfortable experience the last time I visited a local health food store. I asked one of the clerks a question and she was happy to help me. She came around the counter and as we were walking to the location of the item, I couldn't help but notice that her pants had a reddish-brown stain on the seat. She was wearing bright-blue pajama pants and the stain was really obvious. Being female, I know what types of stains are that color and in *that* area. I was totally grossed out to the point that I don't want to shop there anymore. Should I write a letter to the manager or quietly take my business elsewhere?
Thanks for the advice!
Update:The period stain was old...I could tell that. It was not the only blemish on her pants - they were dirty everywhere. Trust me - it was more than the dirt accumulated by stocking shelves.

aside from the nasty stain, pajama pants in a place of business alone will warant a complaint out of me! contact the corporate office. you can email them or call or send a annonymous letter. if you dont have the name then have the date and time and store address so they can trace who it was by the schedule.
While it could have ben "that" - it also could have been something that she bumped into while stocking shelves or otherwise performing her duties. Lot's of spices/herbs/teas/protein powders and drinks/"health chocolates" can have that same "hue" and since she probably didn't have a change of clothes at the store, she just kept working.
If she had had an accident she very likely would have found something to tie around her waste (like a jacket or apron) - but since it likely wasn't "that", then she likely didn't see a need to hide it.
I think you should continue to shop there - not only did she stop to help you (rather than stay behind the counter and just point in a direction) but she sounds like she had a good attitude in general. Isn't that something that should be rewarded?
Why would you write to the manager? To complain that his/her polite and helpful staff member... what? Has periods?
I assume that if she had had an accident or a leak, she didn't know about it. Quietly telling her would have been a kindness, rather than allowing her to walk around like it for the rest of the day.
I'm baffled as to why you should be put off shopping there; you seem to have an unusually strong distaste for a natural process.
Still, whether you shop there again or not is up to you; but please don't put this blameless employee in a position where her boss could blame her for losing the shop a customer. DON'T write to the manager.
oddly one day i woke up and had a stain on my underwear! it looked old but i just put a fresh pair of panties on that nite before!
so what you may think is old could be new! as a female myself i have seen my "Flow" go from bright red, and stays that way for a while to a dark muddy brown and then turns almost black!
so unless you know that womens cycle and how thick or what her flow is you really don't know how old it is!
it could of happend in the morning and dried dark! yeah it happends! Noteveryone bleeds the same!
but what would be your point in calling management?
What would you gain from it? as well what is your main aim on doing this?
think about it!
She may have had a period accident and was unable or not allowed to go home to change. As a woman, I know that I have had an issue before, but i have been lucky enough to not be stuck out in public afterward. I don't see any reason to complain to the manager.
i'm with "lo_mcg" (above). quite honestly it's nothing to be ashamed of.
if i were the clerk, i would have GREATLY appreciated someone quietly bringing it to my attention rather than ignoring it and then complaining to my manager. and besides, i;m sure that if she knew about it and was embarrassed, she would have stayed squarely behind that counter.
it's your choice if you want to shop there or not. but if you chose to bring your business elsewhere, i would do so quietly. there's no need to call her out because of an ambiguous stain.
It probably wasn't her fault. I've known plenty of people that either can't change after "that" happens or they don't even know it. You may want to put a word in with the manager. If it grosses you out that much though, check out other stores in your area.
Accidents are unavoidable, if in fact that is what it was; she was courteous and helpful, so why would you want to get her into trouble? I would rather have someone who had a stain on their clothing but who was helpful and polite than someone rude and snotty with immaculate clothes helping me. Where you shop is up to you, but I would not stop shopping somewhere that had a courteous employee; they are very rare these days!
The menstrual cycle a natural occurance that every woman goes through.
Why be so uptight about it?
Let it go.
