This is my guess, because I have really no solid proof on this. I think this has to do with ocean currents and warm and cold cycles. Remember that warm water rises, and cold water sinks because of density. The cold water gets warmer, rises, gets cooled, falls. The Atlantic Ocean is much, much cooler because of the way the ocean currents work, while the Pacific is relatively warm compared to the Atlantic. Because of this, I would think that large sea mammals would prefer living in the Pacific because of the warm ocean currents, which are more tolerable.

Whales live in the North Atlantic and North Pacific Oceans. They only leave their place during winter and then they return back to their place.
Thank you!!!
Large whales live in the Atlantic as well as the Pacific.

More pervasive hunting in the Atlantic. Read Moby-Dick by Melville.
There are still whales in the Atlantic, including humpback, right, orcas.
