She's under investigation, but that doesn't mean she's guilty. What are you going to do if the investigation concludes that there was NO malfeasance on her part? And why are you so concerned that there's an investigation? I would have expected an investigation under these circumstances. Investigations on ethics charges are as much to prove innocence as to prove guilt. I'd rather see her investigated and proven innocent than NOT have an investigation and have people spreading lies because they never got to hear the evidence of innocence.

If she did in fact misuse her office, then I would have to think long and hard about voting for the Republican ticket. I think a lot of Republicans would choose to stay home on election day in that case.

So I'll give you half credit for this point. She isn't guilty, so you lose half a point for trying to insinuate that she is. But you get to keep the other half point because .... we don't know yet, and the results of the investigation SHOULD cause voters on both sides of the aisle to rethink their positions.

What does her husband's DUI have to do with her? Does he have a string of them over the years? Is he constantly driving drunk? Do you even know the circumstances of the incident? Bad judgment on his part isn't HER fault.

If you read it, you will see that in Alaska, the age of consent is 16. Once the girl is 16, there is no age limit on the man she has sex with. So whether this boyfriend, Levi, is 17 or 18 or 22 won't matter - Bristol was over the age of consent and in Alaska she was therefore legally allowed to have sex with him.

Bad judgment? Of course. Short of the standards her family set for her? Of course again. But it's a family issue and the families are handling it. That's as it should be, and I would say the same if it had been Amy Carter or Chelsea Clinton or Joe Biden's daughter. Teenagers are stupid and make selfish, stupid decisions. If you're going to criticize, you need to go after both sides. In fact, you can start with Teddy and the young lady who died when he ran off the road at Chappaquiddick. His family has never been among the most honest, moral, or ethical of Americans. His first wife was an alcoholic. How many DUIs did she have, and how many more were thrown out? Care to take that on?

I feel the purpose of your (star) question is defeated so far. Recognizing the problem of humans is as good as not recognizing it. Only if a corrective action/ solution is also suggested along with the answer it justifies your question. I say that THERE IS NO PROBLEM. We stand witness that where their is good..u have evil; love with hatred; happiness with sadness....similarly Humans are selfish & selfless; attached & detached; simple & shrewd.......... and so on. I think McCain realized he didn't want to run for President and this is his way of bowing out gracefully. The republicans know there is NO way they will win this time and so they are just getting ridiculous.
