parallel lines have the same slope as the "original" just a different "b"
perpendicular lines have opposite reciprocal slope (change the sign and flip the number over) to the original, and a different "b"
so...
1. y=-8x + 3
2. y=-8x - 9
3. y=-6x +1
4. y=(1/4)x (you'd need a point to figure out the b)
5. y=.5x
6. y=(1/6)x
In the form
y = mx + b
m = slope
Any two equations with the same slope are parallel
A line is perpendicular when (m) in one equation equals (-1 / m) in the other.
example
-8x + 1 and -8x + 10
are parallel because -8 = -8
-8x + 1 and 1/8 * x + 15
are perpendicular because -8 and 1/8 are opposite signs and inverse of the other..
