parallel parking question?
im taking my road test tomorrow, i think im good, but i have a question about parallel parking.
should i be looking over my shoulder while going in reverse? some people are saying use my mirror, some are saying YES look over. my drivers ed teacher never instructed us to look over the shoulder, only when doing the broken U turn
new york road test btw if that matters

I taught driver ed in NYS and you BETTER BE LOOKING behind you while backing. Using your mirrors to back will result in failure. When I taught, they were still making us use hand signals as well! The first move leaving the curb w/ the officer in the car was the left hand signal, left blinker and a look over the LEFT shoulder to leave the curb.
Also, we told students during the P.Park to look over the right shoulder and still keep two hands on the wheel.
Try to look around, both side mirror,rear mirror,and look over your shoulder, it will show that your eyes are active in driving
