Would parasthesia that is induced by pernicious anemia be worsened by either cold outdoor temperatures, or any other differences that exist in summer vs. winter climates ?
A lot of sensory phenomena are affected by temperature. You can easily demonstrate that Nerve Conduction slows in the cold. In fact, one should measure skin temp. before performing a NCV study.
Re the PA-- I hope you are on HYDROXOCOBALAMIN-- Cyanocobalamin is inert. Further, there is a heavy cyanide load in tobacco, so if you smoke , you will complex the active hydroxocobalamin with cyanide----> cyanocobalamin, the form it is excreted in. The reason B12 shots work at all is that about 10% is hydrolyzed to the active form in solution. Sublingual Hydroxocobalamin is more effective- bypasses the gut, and gives you the active vitamin. If you are Anemic from PA, you also need to make sure your intake of folic acid is increased.
